Description

The medieval Benedictine monastery of Santa Scolastica, with the annexed sixteenth-century bastion, now the renovated seat of the Archaeological Museum of the Metropolitan City of Bari, welcomes the visitor at the northern end of that museum full of variety of architectural, archaeological, artistic and historical valour. The visitor experiences a journey back in time, from the 1800s, through the Middle Ages, up to Protohistory, to the foundations of the building.
